Time Palette stores its database in two files on your hard disk: a Main file and a User file. Initially, the User file is empty.

    Files

Any cities you add will be added to the User file, and any cities you modify will be removed from the Main file and placed in the User file. This allows you to keep any cities you have added or changed, as the Main database is updated from time to time.

    Adding Cities

You can add a new city by choosing "New Location..." (Cmd-N) from the Atlas menu, or by clicking on the small notepad icon at the bottom of the Atlas window. You will be presented with the City Configuration Dialog Box to fill out all the information needed for a city.

    Editing Cities

If you would like to change the information associated with an existing city, select the city in the Atlas and choose "Edit Atlas Selection" (Cmd-E) from the Atlas menu. You may also double click on the city in the Atlas list. You will be presented with the City Configuration Dialog Box where you can make changes to the existing data.

You should not normally have to do this, as the cities included with Time Palette should already be correct.

    Deleting Cities

To permanently delete a city from the database, select the city and choose "Delete Atlas Selection" (Cmd-Delete) from the Atlas menu. You will receive an alert asking you to confirm the deletion. Optionally, you can drag the city to the trash can icon in the lower right-hand corner of the Atlas window or just click the trash can button. These have the same effect as using the menu option.
